Praying mantis and our silly black cat

Weather here in southern North Carolina in October could be 85 one day, and 68 another day…as this week predicts. We have been spending time outdoors on the deck hitting the books and drinking some tea. Taliesin prefers almond milk with Ovoltine! Sounds yummy to me.

OK, it is VERY east to get distracted on the deck…birds, squirrels after the corn we put out, and a praying mantis today:

Nature teaches! 🙂

Leaves here are still pretty green, so I don’t have any nice recent pics to share yet of that scene.  Here is one of Zulu, our cat, having a little fun. He is like dog more than cat, I swear. He meows to be let out, and uses the tree line in the behind our house as a litter box, then literally knocks on the door, or jumps to grab the doorknob, to be let in!  Woo hoo, good boy! He frolics (for real) around the yard, jumping and skipping around. Well, that is what it look like! Love our kitty.  I hear black cats are especially bright, I have no idea, this being our first black cat.IMG_4159
